In 2026, TMA BlueTech is moving with greater focus and intent. Centered on maritime defense innovation and ocean intelligence, our strategy is designed to accelerate real world deployment, unlock dual use and multi use opportunity, and connect San Diego to aligned regions and partners across the country and beyond. This will be a defining year for how innovation becomes capability and how our community builds what comes next together.

TMA BlueTech is coordinating a 30-person Southern California delegation to the 2025 United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC) in Nice, France, highlighting the region’s leadership in maritime innovation, ocean science, and climate resilience. The blog outlines key participants from academia, government, startups, and philanthropy, and invites attendees to join TMA’s featured session on June 12 in the UNOC Green Zone. It also spotlights Executive Director Matt Classen’s speaking and moderating roles at the Nice Ocean Business Forum. The post reinforces TMA’s role in fostering global collaboration and advancing the next evolution of the Blue Economy.

This last March, TMA BlueTech led a trade delegation to Singapore to meet with global leaders in ocean innovation, maritime decarbonization, and sustainable blue economy development. What we witnessed was a clear and coordinated effort by multiple nations to build the future of the ocean economy — and to do so at speed and scale. The takeaway was unmistakable: the rest of the world is not waiting.
