Join TMA BlueTech, MTS and IEEE for our monthly BlueTech Networking Meetup, hosted at our longtime community home, Quantum Brewing. This gathering brings together ocean innovators, engineers, founders, and collaborators for an evening where advanced science, real world application, and community converge.
Main Presentation of the Day:
We’re excited to welcome Kristin Bandurski and Bobak (Bobby) Bakhshandeh of SIDUS Solutions as our main presenters for Cheers Oceaneers!
Kristin and Bobby will introduce the LEO Surveillance Mobility Kit, a portable system developed by SIDUS Solutions to remotely connect operators with deployed maritime sensors and surveillance equipment, including systems operating beyond traditional communications range.
Using ANTX-Coastal Trident 2026 as a real-world example, they’ll take us behind the scenes of a collaborative search-and-recovery demonstration that brought together an unmanned surface vessel, high-resolution imaging sonar, subsea visual systems, and remote communications. They’ll share how the different technologies were integrated to support target detection and visual confirmation, as well as some of the practical lessons learned from getting multiple systems to work together in the field.
Most importantly, the presentation will provide a jumping-off point for conversation with the broader maritime technology community about sensor integration, remote operations, autonomy, and how these capabilities can be applied to real-world maritime missions.

About This Event
This monthly networking event is jointly hosted by the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) San Diego Chapter, TMA BlueTech, and the Marine Technology Society (MTS).
Following the presentations, enjoy plenty of time for networking and conversation with professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs, students, and ocean enthusiasts from across Southern California's Blue Economy.
Everyone is welcome—you do not need to be a member of IEEE, OES, TMA BlueTech, or MTS to attend.
We'll once again be gathering at Quantum Brewing, the science-themed brewery founded by a biochemist and longtime home of our BlueTech networking community.
No ticket is required. Please support our host by purchasing your own food and beverages during the evening. Quantum Brewing welcomes guests to bring food from nearby restaurants, so feel free to grab dinner on your way over.
Free registration helps us plan. Thank you in advance for RSVP.
