5th Annual Blue Tech Cluster Convening

Our 5th annual BlueTech Cluser Convening was held at the San Diego Foundation in Liberty Station. Our full day included an members of the BlueTech Cluster Alliance and other international players discussing policy and cluster development. In the afternoon, we were joined by industry and academia members for our Triple Helix Dialogue.

iXblue was first invited to BlueTech Week in 2017. We were so impressed by the quality of the audience, the common will to drive a sustainable blue economy, and the business opportunities we found there, that we became a TMA member and made a point of coming back this year.

UN Decade of Ocean Science Conference

Held at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, our UN Decade of Ocean Science Conference  included topics such as seabed mapping, ocean observing applications, and an IOC regional town hall meeting.

With each successive annual conference the broad impact that is enabled through the BlueTech Week grows exponentially. This conference provides an efficient, real-time, conduit through which government, industry and academia collaborate to understand and identify current and future societal needs and potential solutions.

BlueTech Investors Day

BlueTech Investors Day 2019 included 12 company pitches, judged by a panel of 5 investors with many others sitting in the audience. Each company was given 6 minutes to pitch followed by 6 minutes for Q&A. The top 6 pitches were live streamed to a global audience. A number of our companies have received investment as a direct result of participating in the BlueTech Investors Day.

The quality of the attendees was impressive, the panels and presentations interesting and the availability of people for good dialog was the best I have experienced in a long time. I had a number of effective mini-meetings that could not have happened anywhere else.
