On Giving Tuesday, we think of our partners who have been doing incredible work to further sustainable, science-based ocean and water industries. You may find a few of them listed below.

Marine Applied Research and Exploration (MARE)

MARE aims to raise $25,000 on Giving Tuesday. A leader in ocean exploration, they have been using remotely operated vehicles to explore and track the west coast's marine environment - an endeavor they have continued for over 17 years.

"In 2020, MARE planned to traverse the west coast, gathering information to be included in the most comprehensive evaluation to date of California’s MPA network. Due to closures and disruptions to our partners, COVID-19 has compromised our ability to do this work.

But it has not stopped us. We are able to pursue our plans, though our revisions come at a substantially higher price and with additional challenges." You may learn more about their initiatives and donate to MARE here.

Ocean Connectors

Spearheading a number of conservation themed educational programs, Ocean Connectors teaches youth about the incredible ecosystems and wildlife off the California coast. Their efforts and their impact are largely thanks to meaningful contributions. Learn more and donate to their cause.

Birch Aquarium

A leader in marine education for San Diego's youth, Birch Aquarium features a wide variety of fish and invertebrates native to the California coast, advocating and educating on climate, earth and ocean research done at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Birch is currently closed to the public due to COVID-19. Learn more and donate to Birch Aquarium.

TMA Foundation

So much of the work in BlueTech would not be possible without the support and contributions of our community! TMA BlueTech and the TMA Foundation are happy to champion our members and partners for their extraordinary work. We are working hard to educate students across San Diego on the importance of BlueTech and hope to continue our education programs long into the future.
